Enroll your youth today
When people think of mentoring programs, they think of Big Brothers Big Sisters. As an established youth organization for more than 45 years locally, we’ve worked to develop youth mentoring programs that work. Our experienced approach to recruiting, screening, matching, and supporting our mentoring relationships has resulted in thousands of lasting relationships and helped changed the lives of young people.
safety is our highest priority
We strive to achieve the highest quality possible in matching a youth to a caring volunteer Big, and in providing ongoing professional support services to our youth, parents, and volunteers.
To help ensure youth safety, Big Brothers Big Sisters National Standards of Excellence requires that each volunteer must complete a thorough screening process that includes an application, interviews with a Match Support Specialist, and a background check.
Parents are partners
Parents and guardians play an important role during the match process. As a parent or guardian:
- You will approve all match activities and support your youth's involvement in activities.
- You have regular check-ins with BBBS and your Match Support Specialist about your youth's progress and milestones in the match relationships.
- You ask your youth about the match meetings and report any concerns to agency staff.
- You participate in training on youth safety and communicate to your youth the training received.
When you support Big Brothers Big Sisters, you positively impact the young people in your community.
